In the few weeks since I assumed my new role as Chairman and CEO of Marsh Inc., I have had the great pleasure of meeting with many of our clients around the world and listening to the thoughts and needs of their risk management and insurance leaders. Among the most important messages I can deliver at these meetings is a simple invitation to rediscover Marsh and a commitment on behalf of our 30,000 worldwide colleagues to provide the highest quality service in the industry.
While we worked hard to stay focused and effectively serve our clients over the past year, we also began a comprehensive process to recalibrate all that we do to enhance our clients’ ongoing experience and satisfaction with Marsh. In particular, we developed industry-leading transparency practices, and we are redesigning many of our operations and processes to bring forward the best ideas, insights, and solutions from across Marsh and MMC.
Much of our work is ongoing, but we are confident that we are moving swiftly in the right direction. In fact, we are greatly encouraged by the results of a recent survey from Business Insurance magazine (a prominent US-based publication in the corporate risk and employee benefit management industry). In the survey, the magazine’s readers selected Marsh as the best overall commercial lines retail insurance broker based on service, value, quality, and
innovation. We were also pleased to learn that our sister company, Mercer Human Resource Consulting, was selected as the best benefits consultant.
Marsh’s success depends most of all on the quality and commitment of our people and the confidence and satisfaction of our clients. While we have made great progress over the past year, we have more work ahead as we continue to raise our service quality to meet and exceed your highest expectations.
