Marsh's Life & Benefits Division provides life insurance products for individuals and groups. These include salary continuance, life insurance, total and permanent disability insurance and trauma insurance. Policies can be purchased for business reasons, such as Key Person insurance, or for personal needs, for example, covering personal debt.

Our role as a life insurance broker is to help you identify risk areas and, where appropriate, negotiate with insurers on your behalf to secure appropriate cover at competitive premiums. In some cases we design a cost effective package exclusively for members of a particular group.

Products and services

Salary Continuance insurance provides a monthly benefit while an insured person is unable to work due to an illness or injury. Policies typically insure up to 75% of a person's salary and one can choose a benefit period that will pay for up to two years or up to age 65. Benefits payments cease at the earliest of the expiry of the benefit period or when the insured person returns to work.

Life insurance pays a lump sum benefit when the insured person dies. Life insurance is important because proceeds can be used to pay off debt and be invested to provide an ongoing income for surviving dependants.

Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance pays a lump sum benefit when the insured person is disabled to the extent that they will never be able to work again. A TPD policy is often taken out in conjunction with a life insurance policy.

Trauma insurance pays a lump sum benefit when the insured person is diagnosed with certain medical conditions covered under the policy such as heart attack, bypass surgery, cancer and stroke. These policies are often taken out in conjunction with life and TPD insurance.

These insurances can be provided for individuals or groups.

Our Life & Benefits Division can design the right solution for your risks.
