Claims analysis and reporting
By using Marsh's claims information and risk management system, STARS, we access the latest technology to assist in tracking the cost of risk as well as providing the foundation for our day-to-day claims function.
STARS enables in-depth analysis of the data stored, identification of positive and negative claim trends and the development of effective risk reduction strategies. It also assists in monitoring the benefit of those strategies once implemented.
STARS offers more than the conventional claims reporting system and is
designed to:
- record and maintain a comprehensive database of claims and incidents
- facilitate the management of current claims
- provide analysis of claims costs, causes and trends
- produce regular statistical reports
- provide internet access through a STARS web page to authorised personnel if required
- allow customisation to specific needs and requirements
- facilitate transportation of historical claims data to STARS from other databases
Using the STARS system, we also provide a specialty claims
information service for organisations
managing their own claims but using our system to store their
claims data.
Specialist service providers
We have established expert panels of motor vehicle assessors, loss investigators and adjusters, medico-legal and legal providers throughout Australia.
These panel members work to an agreed fee structure below the usual market rate and in accordance with agreed service standards.
Management of escrow account and GST issues
Our systems enable us to make claim payments on your behalf using funds held in escrow.
We understand the GST implications of under deductible and insured claim payments and provide the information you need for input tax credit purposes in line with ATO reporting requirements.
Claims management support services
If you manage your claims using in-house resources, we can provide support services to help manage the administrative process, which may include cheque generation and processing, incident data entry or management of litigated claims. |
